Crystal Palace Park Café featured in AJ Specification – Facades and Cladding edition
“The most important material decision was with respect to the skin of the building. We knew early in the design process that we wanted the building to reference the park’s dinosaur sculptures. Cedar shingles had several advantages over other tile systems. They were low-cost, and they could be cut into a half-round shape, making the building look ‘scaly’.” Matthew Witts, partner Chris Dyson Architects
